Excellent little coffee station! The quality is great, yet the prices are better than most coffee shops. The staff is not only super friendly, but also very knowledgeable about the coffee, espresso, and foods that they serve. They are happy to talk about it if you have any questions or ask for suggestions. Love this addition to the neighborhood!

A nice stop after/before a walk in the park and the breakfast sandwich was unexpectedly delicious with flavor. The Americano I got was quite bold, I'll probably ask for a medium roast next time.

We are extremely grateful for 1888. We appreciate their delicious breakfast sandwiches for $8! When we currently are surrounded by gouging prices, this place cares about the people in Oakland. We will continue to come here

Wow, just wow! I came for the coffee but STAY FOR THE FOOD! totally blown away with the quality and unique flavors they got! I got homade salsa with Tsaziki sauce with my spinach egg quesadilla and it was amazing! My girl was surprised by fried fresh plantains and pesto with her eggs. Really a treat and awesome because it’s a quick grab and go spot!

Mint iced coffee on the rocks with Hot Ham and Cheese Croissant! Absolutely in taste bud heaven! What a great way to start my Sunday morning! The locals know why we keep this a secret! It's too good to be true! Definitely a customer for life!

This guy really knows how to make a great drink. I REALLY love the pistachio cream coffee. He uses muddled mint as a sweetner!!!! Absolutely must try coffee spot. Only down side is he closes at 4. Totally understandable. I wish he were 24 hours 😆

This spot is so YUM! I love their salty dog latte, and both the breakfast sandwich and egg and cheese croissant are delish - the green salsa they serve with it is amazing too! Was $13 + tip for a speciality coffee and breakfast this morning, and I love to eat it outside by the lake. Everyone is chill and friendly too.

Hands down my fav cafe in Oakland! For $8, you get a giant freshly made wrap ( I had to share it with my dog bc I can’t finish it myself) with homemade pickles, sour cream and homemade chimichurri sauce. The other day I ordered an egg white sandwich with large chucks of avocado (actual huge chunks!!!) and lots of fresh veggies in a soft brioche bun. You can taste the freshness of ingredients (there really is a difference) Nothing is overly seasoned or greasy at all, which makes them great for kids or for folks who want to eat healthy. They can easily charge $12 or even $14 for dishes like this elsewhere. But they choose to only charge $8. I really appreciate them being so humble with the pricing. For the coffee too, they use Alexander A2 milk but only charge $5 for a latte. You can’t find this price anywhere else with this quality. I’m so glad I live around the area so I can come often.

Perfect pick up and go café across the street from fairyland! Got the egg sandwich and the salty dog latte. The egg sandwich was delicious. Will definitely get again. Had more egg than I expected cause I’m used to cafés skimping on the egg, the picture doesn’t do it justice cause I smashed it into my pocket before a lady left so I could eat on the side. The salty dog latte is a perfect balance of sweet and salty great for the rainy day that I came on.
